In an automated BI solution, for the same purpose, enterprises business data is transferred from the data sources of the respective IT systems via various interface functionalities (Extract, Transform, Load abbr. ETL) in a Data Warehouse. There the data can be analysed with suitable tools (e.g., online Analytical Processing abbr. OLAP) and adequate reports can be created. This way is currently State-of-the-Art. For this, a glut of systems and tools is placed at the market. The error risk is relatively low (according to quality of the ETL processes), the data is relatively up-to-date (mostly 1 day latency) and the efficiency relatively high, how, unfortunately, also the costs for implementation and operation. The data flow is unidirectional, from the source systems via Data Warehouse to the decision-makers.
